The Leopardstown Christmas Festival is held over four days from the 26th of December to the 29th of December 2025. Starting on St. Stephen’s Day it is one of many amazing boxing day horse racing meetings and Leopardstown’s superb horse racing Xmas festival has become a traditional hotspot for post-Christmas get-togethers.

With over €1.4 million in prize money up for grabs and seven races each of the four days, the Leopardstown Christmas Festival is four days of top-class Irish racing.

The Leopardstown races over the Christmas festive period attract large crowds to watch the fast-paced national hunt jump racing meeting.

There are many highlights over the course of the four days, including seven Grade 1 races featuring The Paddy Power Steeplechase and Paddy Power Future Champions Hurdle, Savills Chase and Matheson Hurdle.

Racing Post Day

The first day of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival is held on the 26th of December 2025 and is called St Stephens Day.

St Stephens Day at the Leopardstown Racecourse is known as one of the highlights in the racing and social calendar and a must if you’re visiting Dublin over the Christmas period.

The Grade 1 Racing Post Chase is the feature of the day on a 7-race card.

The second day of Leopardstown’s Christmas Festival is held on the 27th of December 2025 and is called the Paddy Power Chase Day.

The 2nd day features two Grade 1 races as well as Paddy Power Chase (Grade B) the most valuable Handicap Chase over the Christmas period.

The 4th day of the Leopardstown Xmas Festival is held on the 29th of December 2025 and is called The Matheson Hurdle Day.

The Grade 1 Matheson Hurdle is associated with some of the greatest 2m hurdlers of our time, Istabraq (4-time winner) Hurricane Fly (4-time winner) and most recently, Sharjah.

The day also plays host to our Family Day as kids under 12 get in free, and there is a range of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
